Arulmigu Anjeneyar Temple

Tamilnadu Co-operative State Agriculture and Rural Development Bank Ltd. 181, Lus Church Road, Mylapore, Chennai-600 004.

The Tamilnadu Co-operative State Agriculture and Rural Development Bank Ltd. (Formerly Known as Madras Co-operative Central Land Mortgage Bank Ltd. and then Tamilnadu Co-operative State Land Development Bank Ltd.) purchased the site from the Andhra State Co-operative Bank during the year 1963. The old bank building had an Anjeneya idol, which was a masonry structure on top of the building. The idol was damaged during the demolition of the old building. The Executive Committee of the bank, in its Resolution No.92 dated 27.12.1969, resolved to construct an Anjeneya Shrine (Hanuman Temple) for which a sum of Rs. 5200/- was earmarked for the construction of the temple.

The Registrar of Co-operative Societies, under his Proceedings RC.103550/70 K3 dated 28.07.1970, accorded permission to the bank to spend Rs. 5200/- for the construction of the temple in the premises of the Bank. Accordingly, the construction was completed in 1970, from the general fund of the Bank.

Shri Anjeneya Shrine located in the Bank’s premises was constructed for the worship of Officers, Employees, and Customers of the bank. To defray the daily Pooja expenses, the bank has all along been disbursing Rs. 45 every month (at the rate of Rs. 1.50 per day) to the Archaka. This arrangement has been in force since the consecration of the shrine.

This temple had been declared on 19.12.2000 as a private temple by the Honourable City Civil Court, Madras, intended for the worship of TNCSARD Bank Officers, Employees, their families, and Customers.

A Trust was Registered on 02.07.2008 for better management of the Arulmigu Anjaneyar Temple located in the head office of the TNCSARD Bank as well as the Arulmigu Yoga Anjaneya Temple in the premises of the TNCSARD Bank, Regional Office at Villupuram.
